We're proud to have been in the Sunday Times Top 100 Small Companies to work for (now known as Best Companies) every time we have entered. That’s 7 times in all. Most recently at No 8 in the UK. It’s especially sweet as the results are based on the judges comparing the results of an anonymous staff survey from every company who entered.

The signage going up on the walls in the new Macildowie HQ was the finishing touch to our brand new Nottingham premises in December 2017. Since its grand opening, as well as providing a great environment for the staff to enjoy, the space has since held client and candidate events, training, charity days and been used by some of our supplier partners and customers.

Our heritage is all about retaining and providing individuals with career development. James Stewart (known as JS internally) is a great example. He joined us with no recruitment experience, back in January 1995 as the 4th employee of the business and he’s now on the board as our Chief Operating Officer. In October 2007 Macildowie was acquired by Greenmount Investments Limited, an investment vehicle owned by several canny investors from Northern Ireland. We still work very closely with the guys who have become an integral part of the Macildowie family.

Tamsin, making friends with one of the locals, on our very first trip to South Africa for our top performers in the business, back in 2005. 17 years on, Tamsin is still with us leading our interim finance offering in Leicestershire.
Macildowie Through The Years
In 1993 we were founded as Macildowie Davids and we incorporated as Macildowie Associates in 1997. In the next 30 years we successfully navigated the economic impact of the attack on the twin towers, the banking crisis, bird flu, the COVID Pandemic and others.
We’ve learned that from adversity comes opportunity. We became the UK’s first “Recruitment and Retention” consultancy in 2020 and the resulting explosion of growth has created massive opportunity for our people.
